About

Dr. Peter Quirós is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute and an expert in neuro-ophthalmology. He directs the Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellowship Program, oversees UCLA’s Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinical Trials, and is a member of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Research Disease Investigators Consortium (NORDIC). Dr. Quirós is also a curriculum director for the Foundations of Medical Science at the David Geffen School of Medicine and serves as President-elect of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS).

Dr. Quirós earned his MD from Yale University School of Medicine, completed his residency in ophthalmology at LAC+USC Medical Center, and pursued a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute.

He practices at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Westwood and Doheny Eye Center UCLA in Pasadena, treating conditions such as ischemic optic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and strabismus.

Recognized internationally for his contributions to education, Dr. Quirós received the International Council of Ophthalmology Mark Tso Golden Apple Award for Medical Educators. He continues to advance neuro-ophthalmology through his leadership in clinical research, medical training, and patient care.
